EASTER
About This Site

by George Martin

Easter is the most ancient and important of Christian feasts, the pivot of the entire liturgical year. If Christ is not risen, our faith is in vain (1st Corinthians 15:17-18). But Christ is risen, and in his resurrection we have hope of rising ourselves to eternal life - the theme of this site.

Lent is a journey to Easter, but now it is time to walk with Jesus through the streets of Jerusalem to the mound of Calvary, and then wait by the tomb for the news of his rising.

Our wait is not long. Like a dawn suddenly ending the darkest night, the message of Easter resounds through the world and in our hearts: Christ is risen! We will continue our meditations on this central truth of our faith for eighteen readings: it is too little to celebrate Easter only on one day.

May you experience the joy and peace of the risen Christ this Easter, and may they sustain you in you hope of rising also with him.
